Out of pure obsessive-compulsiveness:
In the top five* categories: 15 unique films nominated, of which I have seen 2. (I suck.)
In all categories: 45 full-length films nominated, of which I have seen 5.
In my own defense, I saw several films this year that might have been nominated but were not.
Sigh.
*Best Picture, Best Actor/Actress, and Best Supporting Actor/Actress
I get excited when there’s one movie I saw nominated for Best Picture. Last time I saw more than that was probably the year Gladiator stole it from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Traffic, and Erin Brockovich.
Gladiator sucked.
I have seen eight of the fifteen, and will add another few before the awards (but moviegoing is one of the main sources of mutual enjoyment for my housemate and me).
I have United 93 on Tivo and Little Miss Sunshine & The Devil Wears Prada on the top of my Netflix, so I’ll definitely add 3 plus whatever I see in the theater.
Gladiator sucked.
It isn’t one of the ones I saw that year (and I still haven’t seen it). I did see every single movie Ang Lee and Steven Soderbergh made that year.
I saw Gladiator with Cindy. 🙂
