The important thing is that it’s fixed. What did the problem end up being, anyway?
Yay! Was it the power switch?
It was the motherboard.
The sad fact is, if there’s a short, the motherboard will turn off the computer. That’s when it’s working properly. So we (he) had to check all these other things that might be shorting before deciding that the motherboard was turning off improperly.
The answer to #5 is Dr. No. (Just hoping I might get one in quickly….)
