I turned on the TV and was roaming through my DVR menu, with a show on in the background. Apparently it was Ghost Hunters on SciFi, which is about these “paranormal hunters” called TAPS.
Anyway, the guy was explaining what was going on in some haunted house or whatever, and he said it was a little of this, some of that, some of the other, “It ran the whole gambit.”
Yeehah! That’s the best one I’ve heard in WEEKS!
heh.
Hey! In “Element of ritual” You wrote that Goddess is personal. I thonk that She is not, but now I don’t know. What it means? Goddess have many faces, so how She can be personal? Even if She is, I think it’s not the same like Jehowa or Allah…
If the Goddess has many faces, couldn’t some of those be personal faces? That is, facets through which She has allowed you to see Her on your own terms?
I’ve tuned into Ghost Hunters a few times (I live for that stuff) and most of the time, they seem to be running from place to place saying “did you see that?” And I sit there hopelessly waiting for something to really scare the crap out of me. Hasn’t happened yet.
To add my two cents to the Goddess comment however, I think that the Goddess, in her many aspects, can viewed differently by those who honor her. An individual may find themselves drawn more closely to one facet of her than another. It’s what makes there relationship to her personal. Just my humble opinion, of course.
When people speak of “personal” deity, they mean having a personality, concerns, etc. Like Jehovah, for example. He gets angry, pleased, He is definitely personal. Whereas the Tao is non-personal. It just is.
The Goddess is viewed by some people as a Great Goddess Who has all individual goddesses as Her aspects. She is viewed by others as one individual Goddess among many. Either view is okay.
Now I understeand 😉 I thonk that Goddess is like Energy, but Energy with Mind. And Horned God too. I just thonk about “personality” different.
“Energy with mind” is what is meant by a personal deity. It’s the mind that makes it personal.
