How technology improves

When I was a little kid, you used to have to wait for your TV to warm up, because that big ol’ tube didn’t just turn on all at once.

Then technology improved and you could just turn on the TV.

Then technology improved again and now I have a DVR. And have to wait for my hard drive to warm up.

I remember warming TVs. I remember when my dad brought home our first computer.

I had an Intelevision? Was that what it was called? I had an Atari. I played King’s Quest on the IBM in four shades of monochrome. CUTTING EDGE of technology in computer systems and forerunners of the video game.

Now….I think the most recent edition of XBOX and PS3 are actually better computers than my personal home computer.

Now anything that’s four months old is out of date and anything more than a year old could be considered obsolete.

    Ouch.

Slow hard disk? Replace it with a newer one, or a Solid State Disk. If your DVR isn’t upgradable, buy a better one.

One could always watch less television…

*Collapses, then pulls himself off the floor*.

I’m sorry. I can’t stop laughing at that one. Me? Not watch TV? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

When I was your age I had to walk TEN FEET to the TV and back JUST to change the channel!
