My hand to God, I wrote a really nice post last night, just for you, just to edify my panting public, clicked Publish, and…ffffffffffft.
No connection. Post lost. Author slaps self in head.

In my experience, sometimes if you immediately press “back” on the browser, it will recall the submission field with the contents you were trying to submit.
There’s also the “write it in a word processor, then cut and paste” approach as well, which cuts down on this kind of problem but can cause some issues with special characters that Word likes to autocorrect normal punctuation into.
It was a really awesome post, too. I read it telepathically, and it was brilliant. A shoo-in for the 2006 Koufax. Too bad the rest of you missed it.
I use Wordpad to do the cut & paste, thus solving the autocorrect problem. Thing is, I have a dedicated line at work, so sometimes I forget the extra precaution at home. Ah, me.
