Interesting clue. I looked up Oscar nominations, and did you know that there were only 3 men nominated for Best Actor in the 70’s for playing doctors? (I didn’t check Best Supporting Actor.) I would have thought there would be more. Peter Finch played a doctor in Sunday Bloody Sunday, but I knew that wasn’t his last nomination. Richard Burton played a psychiatrist in Equus, but I knew he never won. That left George C. Scott in The Hospital.
Very interesting. I saw he’d won the year before, for Patton, but I thought that would be too easily searched so I omitted that.
