My friend Glenn came over with his data recovery tools, and after many attempts was finally able to read from my former hard drive. (My ex-c?) It took hours to read the files once it recognized there was a drive, and after hours and hours of waiting the results were…
No readable files. Six years of movie reviews…gone. Three book outlines for books I haven’t yet written…gone. Lesson learned…priceless.
Aw, nuts!!!
Oh, horrendous. Simply horrendous. No chance any of those notes also exist in some kind of hard copy?
Thanks for your sympathy, folks. Qira, the stuff I’m describing is the stuff that didn’t get backed up or printed. I’m not totally careless, and was backing up regularly, it’s just that certain folders got neglected. Certain other folders from the backup drive got wiped out inadvertently while rebuilding the computer. So it’s sad but life goes on.
