Beautiful Mornings and Lovely Days

Whenever I think to myself, “It’s a beautiful morning” (or “beautiful day” or “what a beautiful…”) I must sing “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning.” Because the corn is as high as a elephant’s eye. Just is.

On the other hand, if I think “It’s a lovely day” (or any variation thereof), I must sing “Isn’t it a Lovely Day (To Be Caught in the Rain)?“. Must. Sing.

So, what songs must you sing?

If it really is a beautiful day, then it’s gotta be Mr. Rogers.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

But today is not such a day. Blue eyes cryin’ the rain is more like it.

I come from a long line of “must singers”. If any phrase is uttered that has once been put to music, my mother must then sing the song.

When I have a particularly bad period, I always sing “How Lovely To Be A Woman” from Bye, Bye Birdie.

Konagod, you really should try Gershwin, because, waaaaay better than Mr. Rogers.

Maurinsky, sounds like a fun family.

Since it’s a rainy day here I sang with a friend a song in French with a title meaning ‘yes we have the sun.Unfortunatly it didn’t work cause it’s still very cloudy.

When it’s been raining and the sun comes out, I sometimes sing “Here Comes the Sun.” But doesn’t everyone?

Whenever I don recently aquired footwear for the first time, I must hum the opening “do-do-do-do do-do-do-do/do-do-do-do-do-do” from “I Can’t Wait” by Nu Shooz.

When someone asks me for information I don’t have, it’s the bridge from “Look of Love” by ABC (“I don’t know the answer to that question…if I did I would tell you”).

I guess I’m a little more 80s pop and a little less Rodgers & Hammerstein.

OK a really nice moon gets “when the moon hits the the sky…”

    The sun came out Yeah.

Barbs, you don’t sing “Blue Moon”? I’m all about the Blue Moon.

Foxydot, when I want…anything…I rewrite “I Want Candy.” If I want candy, well…!

Times 5…. my mother, my father, both my sisters, and myself… There have been nights when the dinner table discussion was mostly in song, as we set each other off….

    My cow-orkers look at me like I’m crazy…. but only because I am….. 😉
