Democratic control of the House (33 seats ahead, 14 races undecided).
Draconian anti-choice bill defeated in South Dakota.
Senate tied at 49/49, so if you’ve been lighting candles, don’t blow them out yet. We need both Montana and Virginia to gain the majority.
Update: Senate at 50/49. Dems won Montana. We still need Virginia for a majority.
As I posted elsewhere…..
Mission Accomplished!
A spanking has been administered, and the butt belongs to Bush. Democrats take the House, pRick Santorum is soundly defeated, and the board wingnuts are whimpering and whingeing so as to gladden the heart….. 😀
This was a vote directly aimed at the Republican Party leadership, the lack of fiscal and social responsibility, the failure to impose accountability, the policies in Iraq that threaten all the gains that were made there, the crushing debt burden laid at the feet of our children by an irresponsible White House and Congress, Abu Ghraib, Gitmo, spying and wiretapping without oversight, and the attempt by BushCo to replace Republic with Empire.
Man, that felt good………
and…
Taking the Senate too would be the sprinkles on the cupcake……
Actually, both undecided states have a Dem edge, so we may well get our sprinkles.
I was surprised how many people I spoke with didn’t mention Iraq first. I thought it was a no-brainer, but most people said corruption or healthcare first.
Montana has been called for Tester. Virginia will likely remain Webb, unless the GOP succeeds in fixing the recount.
As I understand it, 50/50 gives the majority to the Presidential party, so we still fucking need Virginia.
“As I understand it, 50/50 gives the majority to the Presidential party, so we still fucking need Virginia.”
Yup. But it looks pretty fucking good…… 😉
Fuck, yes!
I predict good things from Virginia.
Now I just pray Lieberman doesn’t go Jeffords on us.
Holy Joe better stick to his word. This time.
Congratulations Deb and freinds for helping to teach the war monger in chief and his henchmen a good lesson.
