1. “They say you’re the bad guy.” “Oh, is that what they say?”
Solved by Brandi (comment #8) and Christopher (comment #9).
2. She gives them a choice of powdered eggs or fresh ones. Powdered will last longer, but they crave fresh.
A unique film memoir, with two completely separate film crews.
3. The revolutionary rapes a prostitute, but she gets her revenge, and a reward to boot.
This is one of nine collaborations between the director and his gorgeous star, all during the 1930s.
4. A sing-along at Graceland doesn’t go well.
Solved by Ken (comment #1).
5. Kissing a beautiful girl, he sees the assassin reflected in her eyes.
Solved by Ben (comment #13).
6. She arranges a book-signing event at the store where she works, and ends up seduced by the author.
Solved by Roberta (comment #3).
7. His day is divided into “units,” like a television schedule.
Solved by witless chum (comment #15).
#4 – This is Spinal Tap
I knew you’d get that.
#6 is Crossing Delancey.
And of course I knew #4.
Yeah, of course you knew #4, but Ken is always online earlier. 🙂
#7 isn’t Being There, is it?
#7 isn’t Being There. I am virtually certain that you haven’t seen #7, Tom.
Is #5 The spy who loved me?
#1 – X2: X-Men United
#1 is X-Men: United, Brandi, you beat me! ITs what i get for waiting until lunch time ti check!
I wanted to say #5 was Aladdin, but then I realised that Jeffar saw him in her tiara…and you won’t really go for a cartoon anyway. Would you?
Funny, I thought #7 might be Being There as well.
(Ooh! Was ‘virtually’ a subtle hint?)
I want to guess Truman Show for #7, but I can’t imagine you think Tom hasn’t seen it….
“Goldfinger” for #5.
Christopher, I am not opposed to cartoons, but Ben is correct. “Virtually” is not a hint, but the fact that Tom hasn’t seen it kind of is.
I’m giving Brandi and Christopher co-credit on #1 because they are 8 minutes apart.
#7 is not Truman Show.
7= “About a Boy” Hugh Grant’s character whose name is…………, not Rob.
Tom should probably watch it, it’s a well-crafted sort of movie.
I’ve seen it. It’s not bad.
I figured it had to be a) something French, or b) something I had specifically said I hadn’t seen. Not sure why De thinks I didn’t see this one.
I keep thinking #3 has to be 1900, but I can’t even say why.
Tom, it’s because it was made in the past ten years. You already posted you never see movies made after you were born. You’re older than ten.
George, I haven’t seen 1900 in years and years, I couldn’t begin to come up with an interesting scene from it.
You already posted you never see movies made after you were born. You’re older than ten.
But I didn’t say that. I said I haven’t seen as many recent movies.
Also, you accidentally deleted #4 when you added hints, so now it looks like #3 is This Is Spinal Tap. 😉
Is #1 Hearts of Darkness?
Tom, I don’t know which you meant, but none of them are Heart of Darkness.
Oh, sorry, I meant #2–and not Heart of Darkness but Hearts of Darkness (Elizabeth Coppola’s documentary about filming Apocalypse Now).
Oh, well that makes sense, because of the two film crews. Still wrong though.
The separate film crews are in separate countries.
